Let x x be the initial amount he had in his pocket.

Therefore according to the question, His amount after leaving the first temple is 2 x 16 2x - 16 ,

His amount after leaving the second temple is ( 2 x 16 ) 2 (2x - 16)*2 16 - 16 = 4 x 48 4x - 48

His amount after leaving the third temple is ( 4 x 48 ) 2 (4x - 48) * 2 16 - 16 = 8 x 112 8x - 112

His amount at the last temple is ( 8 x 112 ) 2 (8x - 112) * 2 16 - 16 = 0 0 [Since at last he is left with no money]

Therefore, 16 x 240 = 0 16x - 240 = 0

16 x = 240 16x = 240

x = 240 16 x = \frac{240}{16}

x = 15 x = \boxed {15}

Therefore, the Amount in his pocket initially before arriving the temple was 15 \boxed{15}
