ratio of investments=1:2

therefore, sum of ratios =3

profit = 2000

hence,bruce should get 1/3 rd of the profit.

=> 1*2000/3

=666.6666666667 thats it

25000 50000 + 25000 2000 = $ 666.67 \frac{25000}{50000+25000} \cdot 2000=\$666.67

Hello,

let A=Alex, B=Bruce, by comparison,

A : B = 50 000 : 25 000

A / B = 50 000 / 25 000

A / B = 2 / 1

A : B = 2 : 1

as for the profits $2000,since A : B = 2: 1,

For Bruce, it is just 1/3 of the profits, Alex has 2/3 of the profits,

Bruce's share = 1/3 x $2000 = $666.667....
