The monkey B is holding on to the tail of the monkey A which is climbing up a rope.
The masses of the monkey A and B are 5Kg and 2Kg respectively.
If A can tolerate a tension of 30 N in its tail, what force should it apply on the rope in order to carry the monkey B with it.
Let the force be F such that a<F<b , Find (a+b)
Take g =

first condition
The tail of monkey A can tolerate 30 N force.
A monkey weighing 20 N is hanged on it so 30-20=10 N
So the monkeys tail can only tolerate 10 N force further. 10 N force will be applied on the tail when the monkey B moves with an acceleration
F=ma
10=2 x a
a=5m/s^2
so the upper monkey should go at top at 5m/s^2
F=(m1+m2)a
F=7 x 5
F=35 N
now the normal force exerted by the monkey on the string is 70 N So the force exerted by monkey on string =70+35=105 N
so the force exerted by the monkey on the string should b e 70<F<105
so the answer is 175 N
