Month Collision

In my classroom, 40 students are sitting on 10 benches with 4 students on each. I am surprised to find that 5 of the 10 benches have at least two students who were born in the same month.

Is it likely that 5 or more of the benches would have this event?

Yes, this happens more than half the time No, this happens less than half the time.

Hint : 1 * 11/12 * 10/12 * 9/12 is more than 1/2

I can say 1+1 is 2, but does that prove anything? No. Explain your solution better, or don't post anything at all.

Oh, so rude. It was a hint.

1 * 11/12 * 10/12 * 9/12 is the probability that no two students in a single desk share a month. It is more than 1/2 but it doesn't solve the question.
