More liars

Logic Level 1

Brian, Charles, Derek and Eric were playing football outside until one of them kicked the ball such that it broke your window. When you asked them who broke the window, these are what they said:
Brian: I don't know who broke the window, but I know that Derek and Eric are definitely telling the truth.
Charles: It was me who broke the window!
Derek: It was Charles, Charles broke it!
Eric: It was Brian, it's actually Brian who broke it!
You know that the one who broke it is definitely lying, some of the innocent are also lying and that there is at least 1 truth in the 4 statements. Who broke the window?

Derek Charles Brian Eric

As the person who broke the window is lying, they would not say that they broke the window, meaning Charles is not the one who broke the window; this also means that Derek is lying. As Derek lied, Brian is also lying. As there is at least 1 truth and Brian, Charles and Derek all lied, Eric is the only one telling the truth. Eric said that it was Brian, meaning the one who broke the window is Brian .

By the fact that "You know that the one who broke it is definitely lying", thus we can't have the true perpetrator to actually admits to his wrongdoing, so Charles is an innocent liar and Derek the supporter is another liar (though his guilty state is unknown at this point of time). With a lying Derek, Brian statement became a lie, and Eric has to be the sole truth teller by the fact that "There is at least 1 truth in the 4 statements".
==> Brian is the guilty liar.
