Mr Pacman!

Mr Pacman is chasing A like the picture above. however A didn't look to the front, so A hit B with restitution coefficient equal zero. what is velocity after they were hit? then what happen?

0.5 m/s and fall to the cliff. 0.5 m/s and eaten by Mr Pacman. 1.5 m/s and Mr Pacman fall off from the screen and they were save wherever they go. 1.5 m/s and eaten by Mr Pacman.

using law of conservation of momentum P = P \sum P = \sum P' because restitution coefficient is zero

P A + ( P B ) = P P_A + (-P_B) = P'

m v A m v B = v ( m A + m B ) mv_A - mv_B = v' ( m_A + m_B )

( 2 × 1 ) ( 1 × 1 ) = v ( 2 ) (2 \times 1) - (1 \times 1) = v (2)

v = 1 / 2 = 0.5 m / s v = 1/2 = 0.5 m/s

and where they go? the velocity is positive so they fall to the cliff.

restitution is zero, mass is same, so final velocity of both A and B will be the same i.e. 0.5. As A was initially travelling at a greater velocity, therefore, both will fall off the cliff.
