19 5 2 = ( 200 − 5 ) 2 = 20 0 2 − 2 × 5 × 200 + 5 2 = 40000 − 2000 + 25 = 38025 195^2 = (200 - 5)^2 = 200^2 - 2×5×200 + 5^2 = 40000 - 2000 + 25 = \boxed {38025}

When squaring a number ending in 5, write 25 preceded by the product of the digits preceding the 5 by the next highest integer. In this case 19x 20 =380,then append 25. Ed Gray
