The probability of not getting a six is 5 6 \frac{5}{6} (or about 83%). Thus, the probability of not getting a six in three rolls is ( 5 6 ) 3 \left(\frac{5}{6}\right)^3 (or about 58%). Finally, the probability of getting a six is the probability of not not getting a six: 1 ( 5 6 ) 3 1-\left(\frac{5}{6}\right)^3 , or about 42%, which is less than 50% .
