Edible part of Fresh mushroom = 10%(1Kg).

Edible part of Dried mushroom = 88%(1Kg).

We can say that, 88/10 = 8.8Kg of fresh mushroom = 1Kg of dried mushroom.

Hence,22Kg of fresh mushroom = (1/8.8)22 = 2.5 K g \boxed{2.5Kg}

Hi Ashwin, I enjoyed this problem! Thank you!

Amount of fresh mushrooms= 22 kg
Amount of edible part = 10 100 × 22 \frac{10}{100}\times 22 = 2.2 kg
This means 2.2 kg is the edible part in the dried mushroom.
Let x be the total amount of dried mushroom.
Therefore, 88 100 × x \frac{88}{100}\times x = 2.2 kg
or, x = 2.5 k g \boxed{x = 2.5 kg}

There is a simpler solution..yours also correct.
