Spiralling out of control!

Calculus Level 3

Starting with the vertices P 1 ( 0 , 1 ) , P 2 ( 1 , 1 ) , P 3 ( 1 , 0 ) P_1(0, 1), P_2(1, 1), P_3(1, 0) and P 4 ( 0 , 0 ) P_4(0, 0) of a square, we construct further points as shown in the figure: P 5 P_5 is the midpoint of P 1 P 2 P_1P_2 , P 6 P_6 is the midpoint of P 2 P 3 P_2P_3 , P 7 P_7 is the midpoint of P 3 P 4 P_3P_4 , and so on. The polygonal spiral path P 1 P 2 P 3 P 4 P 5 P 6 P 7 P_1P_2P_3P_4P_5P_6P_7 ..... approaches a point P P inside the square.

Find and submit the distance of the point P P from the origin.
