Name the Country

Chris and Agnishom are participating in the Country Naming Olympiad. The problems are all in the same format - given the area size, name the country. So, both of them decides to compile a list that sorts countries into 10 columns (0~9), but each of them has different plans :

  • Chris : If a country has an area size that starts with digit x x I will place it in the x th x^\text{th} column.
  • Agnishom : If a country has an area size that ends with digit x x I will place it in the x th x^\text{th} column.

It is better to have a list such that each column have roughly the same length, whose proposals are more likely to achieve this?

Details and Assumptions

  • List of Countries by Area from Wikipedia.
  • Chris will not use the 0 th 0^\text{th} column. Do not compare that column with others.

Without viewing the list provided, Benford''s law implies that Chris would probably have disproportionately many countries in column 1.

Hahahaahahaah! Nice antisolution!
