Negation is the term from logic ... It state the value is negative or negative value will become positive... Here example.
A Boy has a Cap. the statement is true and gives true value... its negation will be ... A Boy has not a Cap...the statement is untrue and gives negative value. The negation in logic called the vice versa the value of statement.

Aren't both 6 > 7 and 6 ≥ 7 true negations of 6 < 7?

Yep. But you need to justify that or , in other words , tell why they really are such negations as there is a reason for why we say they are and that should be said.

For the purposes of your problem it is also good to know about the so to say distinction between what is called "contrary" and what is "contradictory" in logic. Some people may be confused by your argument for example and reply that just 6>7 is a negation of the statement "6<7" because this distinction is not clear to them at which point you should reply and show them were they are wrong and with what anyway.

It may look easy to explain why both of them are negations btw. Nonetheless considering this attentively enough and trying to reason consistent enough may prove a good exercise for logic and moreover also a good training for thinking in an articulate way as it implies making and explaining that easily subtle difference.

You should also speak of why the negation of your statement is the one propsoed as the answer not just describe the concept of negation in logic. That will make this a solution.
