Call A's rate 1/A project per day and B's rate 1/B. We are given

24 A + 24 B = 1 \frac{24}{A}+\frac{24}{B}=1

6 A + 4 B = 1 5 \frac{6}{A}+\frac{4}{B}=\frac{1}{5}

Multiply the second equation by 4 and subtract them to get

8 B = 1 5 \frac{8}{B}=\frac{1}{5}

B = 40 B=\boxed{40} days per 1 project.
