Newton!

Suppose there is a 40 kg 40 \text{ kg} box lying on the floor with the coefficient of static friction is equal to 0.5. External force applied on the box is 150 N 150\text{ N} . What is the net force on the box?

Take g = 10 m/s 2 g=10\text{ m/s}^2 .

The answer is 0.

Static friction calculated static Frictional force = 200 N External force applied = 150 N According to Newton's Third Law .... Every Action has equal and opposite reaction.

Nice problem :) . It is very basic concept checking problem :D
