Success of Nigel's Movie "Nivergent"

Algebra Level 1

Nigel just produced his own movie called "Nivergent". Seagate theaters has created a goal of selling 1500 tickets for "Nivergent" in the 1st week. The first 2 days, "Nivergent" was a hit, as it sold 30% of its first week goal tickets.

What is the average number of tickets the Seagate theaters needs to sell each day for the next 5 days in order to meet their first week goal?

1500 x 0.7 = 1050: which is the number of tickets that Seagate theaters need to sell in 5 days reach their goal.

1050/5= 210

Seagate theaters needs to sell an average of 210 tickets each day for 5 days to reach their goal.

Note: Nivergent is not the most original movie name. Anyone know another similar movie name? (ha ha) :)

Yes, I decided to make a joke and based the name on that called Divergent. I was a spectacular movie.

It was a good movie, but this is a weird joke. Its more of a tribute to the movie than a joke.

1500X(30/100)=450 1500-450=1050 1050/5=210

answer is 210 tickets.

The answer is 210 tickets.

10% of 1500 = 150 tickets multiplied by 3 to get 30% sold in first day = 450 tickets 1500 minus 450 = 1050 tickets that need to sell within 5 days. 1050 divided by 5 = 210 So 210 tickets on average need to be sold everyday for the next 5 days to meet goal.

30 % of the tickets in 2 days meant 450 tickets were sold. So rest of the 1050 tickets were to be sold in 5 days, i.e on an average of 1050/5=210 tickets each.

Thus the required answer is 210.

1500-(1500*0.3)=1050 1050/5 days= 210/days

30 percent meant 30 out of 100.so, he will sell 450 tickets out f 1500 within 2 days. remaining 1050 tickets average is 1050/5=210

Taking out 30% of 1500, we get the answer 450. These are the number of tickets sold in the first week. The tickets that remain are 1500-450=1050. So taking out the average, 1050/5=210. So, 210 tickets need to be sold per day to meet the goal

30% of 1500 = 450 tickets left 1500 - 450 = 1050 average tickets to be sold within 5 days = 1050 / 5 = 210

30% of 1500 =450, it means 450 tickets are sold in two days, remaining tickets not sold =1500-450 =1050 tickects are to be sold in 5 days, divide 1050/5=210
