There are 40 hippos .

Length of the river is 50m .

Each hippo is of length 5m .

Therefore In one line , there will be 5*10 = 10 hippos (50m - river; 5m - hippo)

Now, 10 Hippos in one line, so how many lines for 40 hippos? HeHe... Question simplified for a 6-year-old .

Obviously 40/10 lines = 4 Lines.

so there are 40 hippos and the length of the lake is 50m.

and, each hippo is 5m in length.

So, no of hippos in 1 line is 50/5 = 10 hippos.

So, 40 hippos would need 4 lines in the lake.
