Gradient means the steepness of a line. If it were not horizontal and vertical lines, it would be insufficient information, however, as it is, horizontal lines are always 0, and vertical lines are undefined.

Steepness of the line w.r.t to the horizontal plz mention that in your solution, else the question and solution is nice :)
