It's Alice's birthday, and today is her birthday party. Alice's father orders one large, rectangular sheet pizza for everyone to eat, but unfortunately, none of the kids like the crust! If each row of the pizza has 10 slices, and each column of the pizza has 8 slices, and no one eats the slices that have crust (AKA the edge pieces), how many slices are left over at the end of the party?

If their is 80 peices of pizza and you take the rows of 10 on each side then that means that their a only 6 crust slices on each other side so it's 80-10-10-6-6 which is 48

That is how much they ate, I got confused with 48. Well... the remaining pieces are 32.
I got the same answer but but forgot it's asking how much was left and not eaten.
I imagined it as a square pizza and solved it! And it worked!!!
It doesn't say that the adults don't eat the pizza.
I thought you’d have to find the area or perimeter!! I tried 36,89 and 34!!!
This question mentions nothing about the rest of the pizza being eaten, just that the crusts aren't.
I read this question wrong! 10 x 8 = 80 (To find the area of the pizza) 80 - (10x2) = 60 (removing the top and bottom pizza bits) 60 - (6x2) = 48 There are 48 pieces that the children will eat, leaving 32 peices which have crush and will not be ate.
It doesn't say anything about the corners either

I have written 32 only
2•((10-1)+(8-1)) = 9+7+9+7 = 32
Assign each of the corner to only one side so a side is (x-1)
The other approach is that the total number of share is 10 • 8 = 80 and only (10-2) • (8-2) = 48 is eaten so 80 - 48 = 32 is left.
Yaaaaasssss
I was waiting for someone to mention that the corner pieces should be subtracted both times. Only once.
There are 80 slices pizza So, there are ( 80 - (6 * 8)) = 32 slices pizza left.
If nobody eats crusts that means the top and bottom row as well as the right most and left most column are not eaten.
Now let's see what is eaten? It is from row 2 to 7 and column 2 to 9. This makes it 6 rows and 8 columns.
So 48 pieces are eaten leaving 32 pieces as uneaten.
I think the answer should be at least 32, because it is not said if all the rest has been eaten or not. There can be more slices left.

Of this 80-slice pizza, it has 2 end rows of 10 slices each + 2 end columns of 8 slices each = 36 end slices with crust. Subtracting the four common corner slices gives 32 crusted slices.
