A classical mechanics problem by Naren Bhandari
A physics teacher has provided a steel rod and rubber to Harry and Marry and they are supposed to be stretching followed by compressing the given equipments for 5 times. It is found that Marry could easily stretch and compress however, Harry couldn't do so.
Teacher ask two students, "Which of the steel or the rubber is more elastic?"
Answer of each students are :
Student 1 : Rubber is more elastic.
Student 2 : Steel is more elastic.
Whose statement will be correct provided teacher reveal the answer?
