Is it possible to obtain the number 24 using each of the numbers 1, 3, 4 and 6 once and only once?

Only basic operations i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and parenthesis are allowed.

The solution is a frustratingly simple one, as shown below:

6 ÷ ( 1 3 4 ) = 24 6 ÷ ( 1 4 ) = 24 24 = 24 6 \div (1 - \frac{3}{4}) = 24 \\ 6 \div (\frac{1}{4}) = 24 \\ 24 = 24
