Numbers and Patterns (2)

By looking at:
1 × 8 + 1 = 9 1\times8+1=9 ,
12 × 8 + 2 = 98 12\times8+2=98 ,
123 × 8 + 3 = 987 123\times8+3=987 .

What is 123456789 × 8 + 9 123456789\times8+9 ?

From the options the answer is obvious.
The number of digits in the answer would bebthe number of digits in the extreme left being added. For example 123 × 8 + 3 \color{#D61F06}{123} × 8+ 3 has 3 3 digits, so the answer 987 987 also has 3 3 digits and in descreasing order of numbers. So, 987654321 × 8 + 9 \color{#D61F06}{987654321} × 8 + 9 has 9 9 digits, so the answer would also have 9 9 digits in decreasing order = 987654321 \color{#69047E}{\boxed{987654321}} .
