objective question exam!!

Algebra Level 1

a man got a objective question paper ! if he give a right ans he will get 1 mark , if he give a wrong ans he will loose 0.5 mark .he gave all answer... ! after exam he got 29.5 mark . so how many ans was wrong and how many was wright??????

r=33, w=7 then wrong qustion deduct 0.5 mark then 7=3.5 ,r-w=ans 33-3.5=29.5

33 right ans then he got 33 marks but his 7 wrong question then his reduce marks 7*0,5=3.5 then 33-3.5=29.5

Since the total marks awarded were 29.5 and for every wrong answer 0.5 marks were deducted, the number of wrong answers have to be odd. From the options it can only be the ones containing 9 and 7 wrong. By simple subtraction: 33 - (7*0.5) we get 29.5, hence the right answer

Total Marks = 1 X (No of correct answers) - 0.5 X (No. of Incorrect answers). To get 29.5 marks, No. of correct answers = 33 and No. of incorrect answers = 7 . So from above equation we get (1 X 33) - (0.5 X 7) = 33 - 3.5 = 29.5
