OCR A Level: Core 4 - Partial Fractions [January 2013 Q10]

Calculus Level 4

( i ) (\text{i}) Use algebraic division to express x 3 2 x 2 4 x + 13 x 2 x 6 \dfrac{x^3-2x^2-4x+13}{x^2-x-6} in the form A x + B + C x + D x 2 x 6 Ax+B+\dfrac{Cx+D}{x^2-x-6} , where A A , B B , C C and D D are constants.

( ii ) (\text{ii}) Hence find 4 6 x 3 2 x 2 4 x + 13 x 2 x 6 d x \large \int _{ 4 }^{ 6 }{ \frac { x^{ 3 }-2x^{ 2 }-4x+13 }{ x^{ 2 }-x-6 } } \, dx giving your answer in the form a + ln b a+ \ln b .

Input a b ab as your answer.
