Each wife had seven sacks,

Each sack had seven cats,

Each cat had seven kits, (kittens)

Kits, cats, sacks and wives,

How many were going to Saint Ives?

No math required, you just saw these people. It never said they were going to Saint Ives. Only you are. That equals ‘one’.

Haha, nice problem :D I thought it was 7 4 + 2 = 2403 7^{4} + 2 = 2403 !

Yeah, I thought that first as well, but I soon realised it was just one (I had done all the calculations right too...) and I thought it was a nice riddle to put up here. I was the only one of my friends who got it right, so I think it’s an easy, but misleading riddle.
