Remember, only one statement is correct. We'll eliminate choices on this basis. If statement A was correct, then statement B would also be true, so this cannot be the case.

If statement B was correct, then statement C would also true, so this cannot be the case.

If statement C was correct, then statements A and B would be false. Thus, statement C is the correct statement.

I'm not a fan of this one because it's not clear that "or" is exclusive. If "or" is inclusive (which is standard usage in mathematical logic) then B and C can both be true. But yes, if "or" is exclusive then only C is true.

This is actually not the case; in general (and here) "or" is inclusive. ("Xor" is the exclusive form.)

The reason "B" cannot be true is because if statement B were true, then statement "C" is true, since statement C is that statement B or C is true. That would give two true statements, but the problem says only 1 statement is true.

Yes. I was considering the three statements by themselves without the proviso that only one of them was true.

Yaa, basically neither A nor B can be correct, because they are referred as possibly correct in 2 statements each.

in my opinion, this is the worst question i've encountered of this nature on this site. that may because i lack in the qualities i desire to possess from a philosophical/problem solving point of view, but it could also be that the question lacked...
