x × 43 = p x \times 43 = p

x × 34 = p 99 x \times 34 = p-99

x × 34 = x × 43 99 x \times 34 = x \times 43-99

43 × x 34 × x = 99 43 \times x-34\times x = 99

9 × x = 99 9 \times x = 99

x = 11 x = 11

I think you made a typo in the last line where you wrote a.
