Three friends divided some oranges equally. After all of them ate 4 oranges the total number of oranges remaining is equal to the oranges each had after division. Find the original number of oranges.

Let x = total number of oranges, by those statements,

x / 3 = (x- 3 (4 ) )

x = 3 ( x - 12 )

solve , you will get the x = 18....
