Let total oranges be x x .

After selling oranges, oranges left = x 3 5 x = 2 5 x x-\frac { 3 }{ 5 } x=\frac { 2 }{ 5 } x

1 4 o f 2 5 x = 1 10 x \frac { 1 }{ 4 } of\frac { 2 }{ 5 } x=\frac { 1 }{ 10 } x

After throwing, he has f r a c 25 x 1 10 x = 3 x 10 \\frac { 2 }{ 5 } x-\frac { 1 }{ 10 } x=\frac { 3x }{ 10 } oranges.

Given,

3 x 10 = 24 3 x = 240 x = 80 \frac { 3x }{ 10 } =24\\ 3x=240\\ x=80
