Normallly Reaction of alkenes with hydrogen halides is electrophilic addition which follows markovnikov's

regioselectivity. but whenever we add a peroxide the reaction starts following antimarkovnikov's

regioselectivity but note that the peroxide should be an organic one because if add an inorganic peroxide

the reaction will follow markovnikov's regioselectivity only
