When we multiply expressions raised to the same power, we can use the rule a^x * b^x = (a*b)^x. In this case (x+1) and (x-2) are both raised to the power of 2, so ((x+1)(x-2))^2= x^4-2x^3-3x^2+4x+4. The solutions to this polynomial are -1 and 2, so the sum of all solutions is -1+2=1
