An oxyacid X is stable in NaOH but in acidic solution it dispropotionate to give a paramagnetic compound A .A is a yellow gas which dimerise to give B which on further heating decompose to give O2 + Cl2+ C. C is a dark red liquid and can be obtained by reaction of A with ozone.

Report sum of mol weight of X,A,B,C

it is obvious that it is a oxy acid of chlorine , only HClO2 is very unstable and only stable in basic medium but in acidic medium it gives

HClO2-------> ClO2(yellow gas) +Cl- +H2O

it dimerize to give Cl2O4 ----------> O2+ Cl2+ Cl2O6(dark red liquid)

How can an acid be stable in basic medium???
