Packing Pentominoes

Logic Level 1

Can you cover this 5 × 5 5\times5 grid perfectly using only x x and b b pentominoes?

  • You may rotate, flip, and move the pieces.
  • You may not cut the pieces.
  • You may use any number of x x 's and any number of b b 's.
  • You may not overlap the pieces.
  • All pieces you use must be placed entirely on the grid.
Yes, I can do it No, It's impossible

i would rotate the "x" 45 degrees and put it in the middle. Say, if you number the squares 1 to 5 left to right and 1 to 5 up to down, the center of the x would be at coordinates 3,3. then rotate the "b" 90 degrees clockwise and put it in the left corner. Rotate original figure 180 degrees and put it in right corner. Rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise for bottom right. Keep it as is originally for bottom left. I hope that is somewhat helpful; tough without a picture but I don't know how to do that haha.
