The angles x x and 2 y 2y are supplementary ⇒ x + 2 y = π \Rightarrow x + 2y = \pi . Solving for y y in terms of x x yields y = π 2 − x 2 . y = \boxed{\frac{\pi}{2} - \frac{x}{2}}.
