Notice that all the letters in the pattern have at least 1 enclosed loop in the letters. For example, $A$ has 1 enclosed loop in the middle of the letter, whereas $B$ has 2 enclosed loops at the top and bottom of the letter.

Therefore, as $D$ has an enclosed loop, the answer is $D$ .
