Raj, Anoop, and Varun are three roommates who agreed to evenly split the cost of having an apartment.
In the month of December, Raj paid the cable bill of $64, Anoop paid the electricity bill of $89, and Varun paid the heating bill of $126. In order to evenly split the bill, who should be reimbursed, and by how much?

wow. simple.
Coool method dude...............
total xpense is equal to 279...divide by 3 and u will get 93....93-64 is equal to 29...93-89 is equal to 4...and tats it..!!
That's right.
exactly the same way i nailed it
Easy where are harder ???s
Total expense = 64 + 89 + 126 = 279 Therefore, each person pays = 93 Varun has paid in excess = 126 - 93 = 33 (This amount should be reimbursed by the other two) Anoop has already paid 89 of his share of 93. He has only got to pay = 93 - 89 = 4 Anoop has paid 64 so he pays = 93 - 64 = 29 Check: 29 + 4 = 33 ( amount due to be paid to Varun √ )
nice answer
For the cost to be evenly divided, each roommates must have equal expenses. Gabriel's cost=64 Joshua's cost=89 Patrick's cost=126. If Gabriel pays $29 to Patrick, and Joshua pays $4 to Patrick, Gabriel's cost=$64+$29=$93, Joshua's cost=$89+$4+$93, and Patrick's cost=$126-($29+$4)=$93, so A is the answer.
29,4
By the way, regarding the title, "It is easy already."
Raj should give $29 to Varun and Anoop must give $4 to Varun such that each of them has spend $93 for their expenses.
64 +89+126 = 279
279/3 = 93
so each of them should pay that amount in order for those 3 to evenly split the bill..
93-64=29.. 93-89=4
so raj need to pay 29 and anoop should pay 4
if we take average of all these three then it gives 64+89+126/3=93.. as raj has paid 64 so he must provide 93-64=29 to varun & Anoop has paid 89 so he must pay 93-89=4 to arun
126+89+64=279/3=93 so pay 93 per head its easy and second thing Gabriel & Joshua are not in the Room or Question. Thanks...
total money paid=64+89+126=279 doller on even splitting each should pay=279/3=93 anoop paid 4 doller less and raj paid 29 doller less and varun paid 33 doller more ...so they should give this amount to varun
take average of all the three numbers 64+89+126/3=93
now to fulfil this subtract the money of Gabriel and Joshua.
It is 93-64 = 29 (Gabriel has to pay) and 93-89 = 4( Joshua has to pay)
Gabriel and joshua r not given in the question ???
get the average 64+89+126=93 raj: 93-64=29 anoop: 93-89=4 29 for rajand 4 for anoop
add all the amount . it is=279 then divide it by 3 it is 93$ per head. then try to arrange 93$ in individuals account
just make average and calculate.
64+89+126=279 then 279/3=93 per head so one person 29 and another 4
Total amount of bill is $279. total no of members is 3. so that the average of each one member is 279/3 = $93. Raj paid only $64, but its less than the average amount of bill , so he have pay 93-64 = $29. anoop paid only $89 , he have to pay 93-89 = $4. varun paid $126, but its more than average amount of bill. 126-93 = $33 extra amount. we have to compensate varun . so that Raj and Anoop have to pay the varun ,the amount of $29 and $4 respectively . 29+4 = 33
The total cost of bills = $ ( 6 4 + 8 9 + 1 2 6 ) = $ 2 7 9 .
Now, average bill cost for each roommate = $ ( 3 2 7 9 ) = $ 9 3
Now, we see that Raj paid $ ( 9 3 − 6 4 ) = $ 2 9 less than what he was supposed to pay and Anoop paid $ ( 9 3 − 8 9 ) = $ 4 less than what he was supposed to pay while Varun paid $ ( 1 2 6 − 9 3 ) = $ 3 3 more than he was supposed to pay. If the payment left by Anoop and Raj is added, it gives us $ ( 2 9 + 4 ) = $ 3 3 which Varun should get to balance his extra payment.
* So, Anoop and Raj both should pay $ 4 and $ 2 9 respectively to Varun. *
X -> 64 Y ->89 Z ->126 total=279 for each person it is 279/3 = 93 so 93-64= 29 & 93-89 =4 hence RAJ should 29$ and ANOOP should pay 4$ to VARUN
1st - Add all the exp. Raj $64 + Anoop $89 + Varun $126 = $279 2nd - Per person Exp. = $279/3 = $93 3rd - Raj has paid $64 but per person exp is $93, so he has contributed $29 less amount in Exp. Anoop has paid $89 but per person exp is $93, so he has contributed $4 less amount in Exp. Varun has paid $126 but per person exp is $93, so he has contributed $33 extra amount in Exp. 4th - Hence Raj should pay $29 to Varun, Anoop should pay $4 to Varun.
1ST ADD THREE NUMBER AND DIVIDED BY 3, TO FIND THE ROOM RENT.. 126+64+89=279/3=93 LAST PERSON GIVE MORE 126-93=33 PAID BY OTHER TWO PERSON 2ND PERSON GIVE 93-64=29 AND 1ST PERSON GIVE TO LAST PERSON= 93-89=4
($64+$89+$126)/3=93 93-64=29 93-89=4
Simply find the total cost i.e 64+89+126=279. It shows that everyone should pay 93$ to evenly split the bill. Now If Raj pay 29$ and Anoop pay 4$ to Varun then the bill will be equally divided.
Total amount is 64+89+126 = 279 is to be divided equally amount 3 so one should pay 279/3 = 93. As varun paid 126 instead of 93 he should get 33 from his friends. From Raj 93- 64 = 29 and from Anoop 93-89=4
(Average)a=(64+89+126)/3=93$ Raj =93-64=29$ to Varun Anoop =93-89=4$ to Varun
share of each roomate = (64+89+129) /3 = 279/4 = 93 Raj paid 64 <93 (29 $ less) Anoop paid 89 <93 (4$ less) Varun 126 > 93 (33 $ more) so Raj (29$) and Anoop (4$) should pay to Varun
You have to find out the average money every1 should contribute i.e, adding 64$ + 89$ + 126$ = 279$ and then dividing them with 3 i.e, 279$ / 3 = 93$ . Next you have to see how much each of them has to give or to receive . The next you have to do is calculate and compare the average and the money they have contributed. All child's play with options
64 + 126 + 89 = 279. 279 / 3 = 93. So Varun paid the most. He paid $4 more then Anoop and $29 more then Raj.
since , total bill=64+89+126=279 . now mean =279/3=93 . raj paid $64 which is less than average so he should reimburse 93-64=29 . and anoop paid $89 which is $4 less so he should reimburse it. now , since varun paid more than average, so both will reimburse the money to varun
Simple
First find the mean or average of the three values by adding them all up and dividing by 3. you will get 93 Then For raj 93-64 means that he has to pay 29 dollars extra For anoop 93-89 means he has to pay 4 dollars extra Varun already paid extra 126-93 equals to 33 dollars so he should recieve 22 dollars from the other two friends Since anoop has already paid 89 dollars so he will only give 4 dollars to varun to make p his bill and raj will pay 29 dollars to make up his share. So in the end , all three friends have to pay 93 in total.
HERE RAJ PAYED 64$,ANUP PAYED 89$,VASSUN PAYED 126$.TOTAL COST =279$.AVERAGE COST=93$.HERE VASSUN PAYED 33$ MORE THAN THE OTHER TWO.SO RAJ HAVE TO PAY VASSUN=93-64$=29$ AND ANUP HAS TO PAY=93-89$=4$.
SORRY FOR WRONG NAME..........
Amt. paid-- $64, $89, $126 Name------Raj, Anoop, Varun(respectively) calculation-+29, +4, -33 {Raj paid $29 and Anoop paid $4 to Varun:::::::So Varun gets $33(29+4)} total expenditure-=93, =93, =93
126+89+64=279 each should pay=279/3=93 so varun will be reimbursed=126-93=33 anoop should pay=93-89=4 raj should pay=93-64=29
64+89+126=279, 279/3=93, 93-64=29, 93-89=4
Divide the total value by three to find how much each person owes over all. (64+89+126)/3 = 93.
Subtract the amount Raj paid from the amount he should pay overall. 93-64=29 , so Raj owes $29.
Subtract the amount Anoop paid from the amount he should pay overall. 93-89=4, so Anoop owes $4.
Subtract the amount Varun paid from the amount he should pay overall. 93-126= -33, so Varun is owed $33.
Therefore Raj owes Varun $29 and Anoop owes Varun $4.
We should total the bills and then divide it by 3. Then we should check who paid more or less then we should calculate the amount according to each.
simple.... (64+89+126)/3=93; now adjust the amounts to get 93; at which all members get even(equal) shares;
first of all add the money paid by three of them then divide it by three then subtract money paid by raj from 93 and money paid anoop by93 that is 64+89+126=279 279/3=93 93-64=29 93-89=3 so,raj should pay$29 and anoop should pay$4
evenly split amount=(64+89+126)/3 =93, therefore subtract the bills paid by raj and anoop to the evenly split amount (93) to get the amount of money the two shall pay to varun
sum of the 3 divided by 3 will give u the price per head...then subtract the new value with individual values to get the answer
if raj pays $29 to varun his investment becomes $93 and varun 's becomes $97($126-$29).Now if anoop gives $4 to varun his investment becomes $93($89+$4) and varu's becomes $93.thus all bills are evenly split
Each one pay equally (64+89+126)279/3=93 Raj 64-93=-29 Anoop 89-93=-4 Varun 126-93=33 so varun got $33 from Raj $29 & Anoop $4
