Let the x represent the amount of pears sold in the morning.
Let y represent the amount of pears sold in the afternoon.
x+y=360
Twice as many pears were sold in the afternoon. Therefore:
y=2x
Substitute 2x for y:
x+2x=360
And solve:
3x=360
x=120 kg
