Let G be the number of girls in the class and B be the number of boys in the class. We have G = B + 30 and G = .6*(G+B). Solving this system yields G = 90 and B = 60. Therefore, the total number of kids in the class is 90 + 60 = 150. 68% pass, meaning 102 pass. We are told 30 of the 102 passing are boys. Hence, 72 girls pass and 90-72 = 18 do not. Therefore, the percentage of girls who do not pass is 18/90 = 20%.
