200%=140

100%=70

10%=7

50%=35

100%+50%+10%=160%

70+35+7=112

160%=112

1.6 × n = 2 × n × 1.6 2 1.6\times n = 2\times n\times \frac{1.6}{2}

The problem tells us that 2 × n = 140 , 2\times n = 140, so therefore 1.6 × n = 140 × 4 5 = 112 1.6\times n = 140\times\frac{4}{5} = \boxed{112}

Nice technique.

If 200% of n is 140, thus 200/100 x n = 140 and 2n = 140 and n = 70. Then 160% of n is 1.6, 160% = 160/100, and 160% of n is 1.6n = 1.6x70 = 112.

There is another way to solve it, that is by factorize it like this,200% of n=140,thus 5(40%) of n=140,it means that 40% of n=140/5=28,since 40%=28,40%multiply by 4=28(4)=160%=112

If 200% of an interger is 140 then the integer is (100/200) x (140) = 70 then 160% of the same integer I.e.of 70 is( 70) x (160/100) = 112

An easy way of doing this sum could also be :

if 200% of x = 140 ... 140 = 2x ... x = 70. now 160% = 200% - 40% ... = (140 - 40% of x) ... = 140 - 0.4*70 ... = 140 - 28 ... = 112!

140/2=70, 200%/2=100% 70/10=7, 100%/10=10% 7×6 = 42, 10%×6=60% 70+42=112, 100%+60%=160%

200% of a number is twice the number. 140 is two times 70 ,... 7 is 10% of 10 so subtract 4X7 corresponding to 40% from the given 200% of the number which is 140 .so the solution comes out to be 140- 4X7=140-28 =112

If 200% of n is 140, then 100% = 140/2, thus n = 70. 60% of 70 = 42, then 70+42=112

If 200% of n=140,thus n=140/200=7/10, and 7/10 multiply 160%=112

200% of x = x * (200/100) = 2x = 140. => x = 140/2 = 70. 160% of x = x (160/100) = (70 160)/100 = 7*16 = 112

The number in question is obviously 70. Then to get 160% of 70, add 60% of 70 TO 70. 7 is 10% of 70, and 7 x 6 = 42. So the number we want is 70 + 42. 112.

200% of x=140

(200/100)x=140

2x=140

x=70

(160/100)70=1.6×70=112

160(140)/200 = 120

140/2.00=70

70x1.60=112

(200/160)=(140/n) multiply both sides by n and reduce fractions (5/4)n=(140/1) multiply both sides by 4/5 n=(140/1)(4/5) reduce fractions n=(28/1)(4/1) n=112

So 160% of 140= 112

200% of a = 140,
a=140x100/200=70,
160% of 70 =160/100x70= 112 If you understood the method, please upvote

140/200=.7

.7*160=112
