Friction just require a normal force (i.e. a contact) and that can also be provided by other forces such as electrostatic force and others !

Gravity and friction are 2 different forces. There is no such connection between them that if one is not, other will also be not. Also gravity is created by attraction of particles, while friction is created by interlocking of particles. So they have no connection.
