Of the first 5 smallest positive integers, I multiplied 4 of these numbers to produce a number with a value of 30. What number did I exclude from my calculation?

The five smallest positive integers are 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 1,2,3,4,5

30 = 1 × 2 × 3 × 5 30 = 1 \times 2 \times 3 \times 5

Now, 4 is the only integer belonging to this set which does not divide 30. Therefore, 4 4 was excluded.

That's one way to solve it. Thank you.

My approach was to find M M such that 1 × 2 × 3 × 4 × 5 M = 30 \dfrac{1\times2\times3\times4\times5}{M} = 30 .

The value 30 is not divisible by 4(given in the choice). Therefore the number 4 is not included in the product.
