He woke up with a 3 inch nose, which means he told 3 lies. Came back with a 9 inch nose, so 9-3 is 6. He told 6 lies

NORMAL NOSE SIZE IN THE MORNING = 3 inch .

NOSE GROWS IN EACH LIE = 1 inch

HIS NOSE IN THE EVENING = 9 inch

LIES HE TELL = 9 - 3 = 6 inch .

Every time Pinocchio lies his nose grows a inch, and he left the house with a three inch nose you add together 1+1+1+1+1+1= 6 because his nose grew 6 inches.

If his nose grow an inch each time he lie and he leaves the house with a 3 inch nose, and comes home with an 9 inch nose. His nose would have grown 6 inches by then because 9-3=6 and 6+3=9.
