Probabilistic Triangle In a Bag

Geometry Level 2

A bag contains 5 measuring sticks, each one a different integer length from 1 cm to 5 cm.

If you grab 3 sticks at random and try to hold them end-to-end to make a triangle, will you be able to? Which is more likely, that you'll be able to make a triangle or that you won't be able to make a triangle?

Bonus : You replace the stick that's 1 cm long with a stick that's 6 cm long. Now, what is the probability that 3 sticks chosen from the bag at random can make a triangle?

You probably will be able to make a triangle It's equally likely that you will/won't be able to make a triangle You probably won't be able make a triangle What the...? If you have 3 sticks, you can ALWAYS hold them end to end to make a triangle
