The probability that it is blue is 4 / 20 4/20 or 1 / 5 1/5 .

The probability that it is yellow is 6 / 20 6/20 or 3 / 10 3/10 .

The probability that it is either blue or yellow is 1 / 5 + 3 / 10 = 1 / 2 1/5 + 3/10 = 1/2

There are a total of 4 + 6 + 10 = 20 4+6+10=20 marbles. So the probability that the ball drawn is blue or yellow is

P = 4 20 + 6 20 = 1 2 P=\dfrac{4}{20}+\dfrac{6}{20}=\dfrac{1}{2}
