Total number of outcomes = 36

Out of this possible occurrences where the sum on both the dice can be greater than 6 is as follows (D1,D2 refer to Dice 1 and Dice 2 respectively)

D1 D2

1 6

2 5

2 6

3 4

3 5

3 6

4 3

4 4

4 5

4 6

5 2

5 3

5 4

5 5

5 6

6 1

6 2

6 3

6 4

6 5

6 6

So there are 21 possibilities which can yield a sum > 6. Hence probability is No of possible occurances/Total outcomes = 21/36 = 7/12.
