Problem 18

Geometry Level 5

Given a pyramid S A C B SACB with vertex S S whose base is a right triangle A C B ACB in which [ A B ] [ AB ] is a hypotenuse with length 2 3 cm 2\sqrt3 \text{ cm} . The lateral edge [ S A ] [ SA ] is perpendicular to the plane of the base. The dihedral angle formed by the lateral face S A C SAC and S A B SAB is 3 0 30^\circ . The altitude of the pyramid is 4 cm 4\text{ cm} in length. Find the lateral area.
