Given 10 Maths book, 20 Science book, 8 English books, 15 Hindi books and 25 Computer books, how many books must be chosen to gurantee that there are 12 books of the same subject?

Note first there are less than 12 books in Maths and English. Therefore we have to consider the case that the choosen books must contain all the books of those two subjects. Now if we collect 11 books from the rest three subjects and then 1 book , then we can guarantee 12 books of one subject. Thus (10+8+11+11+11)+1=52
Therefore 52 books
