  1. 2 + 3 = 8 (2 x 3 = 6 ; so 2 must be added)

  2. 3 + 7 = 7 (3 x7 = 21 ; so 6 must be added)

  3. 4 + 5 = 32 (4 x 5 = 20 ; so 12 must be added)

  4. 5 + 8 = 60 (5 x 8 = 40 ; so 20 must be added)

  5. 6 + 7 = 72 (6 x 7 = 42 ; so 30 must be added)

The numbers which must be added to get desired result are in a certain order

2 + 4 = 6 + 6 = 12 + 8 = 20 + 10 = 30

The logic is that they have to be added with the consecutive even number starting from 4 .

so the next will be added by 12 as it is the even number after 10

30 + 12 = 42

So 7 x 8 = 56 and 42 should be added to this which is equal to 98

Therefore 7 + 8 = 98

interesting. I was not about to see this pattern...
