let $x$ be the length of the diagonal

by Pythagorean Theorem, we have

$x^2=35^2+22^2$ $\color{#D61F06}\implies$ $x^2=1709$ $\color{#D61F06}\implies$ $x=\sqrt{1709}$ $\color{#D61F06}\implies$ $x \approx 41$

I assume you mean that x is approximately 41.
