If x + y = 10, 0<y<x => (x+y)^2 = 100 <=> x^2 + 2xy + y^2 = 100 <=> x^2 + y^2 = 100 - 2xy = z^2 - 2xy Because 0<x<y => 2xy > 0 => x^2 + y^2 = z^2 - 2xy < z^2 So x^2 + y^2 = z^2 <=> 2xy = 0 <=> x = 0 or y = 0 but x>y so y = 0
