Let roots of the equation a x 2 + b x + c = 0 ax^2+bx+c=0 (hare a = 3 a=3 ) are α \alpha and β \beta .

Now, ( α β ) 2 = ( α + β ) 2 4 α β (\alpha-\beta)^2 = (\alpha+\beta)^2-4\alpha \beta

or, 1 5 2 = b 2 a 2 4 c a 15^2=\frac{b^2}{a^2}-4\frac{c}{a}

or, b 2 4 a c 9 = 225 \frac{b^2-4ac}{9}=225

or, discriminant ( D ) = b 2 4 a c = 225 9 = 2025 (D)=b^2-4ac=225*9=\boxed{2025}
